Volunteering with WSBA

Welcome! Volunteers are vital to the work of the WSBA and the legal community. The WSBA and legal community benefit directly from members and members of the public who share of their time and talent, skills, experiences, and bring the diverse perspectives necessary to steer the organization forward. Volunteering with the WSBA is a unique, rewarding experience that has a direct impact on the legal profession in a myriad of ways.

Volunteering with WSBA

The Washington State Bar Association works with volunteers as powerful partners in moving forward the WSBA mission to serve the public and the members of the Bar association, to ensure the integrity of the profession and to champion justice. The opportunities are as follows:

Boards, Committees and Councils: the WSBA Volunteer Application is currently closed and will open again in Spring 2025.

Board of Governors: the WSBA seeks applications for various positions beginning in January each year. Click here to learn more.

WSBA Representatives: WSBA recruits for volunteers to serve as WSBA representatives on various external organizations. These opportunities vary and are posted throughout the year. Click here to learn more.

Project-Based Volunteers: WSBA is always looking for authors for Bar News and CLE faculty members. These are great ways to give back; share your voice and expertise in a time-limited way.

Information for Current Applicants:

If you applied to serve as a volunteer in 2024 and did not receive notice of an appointment; this means that unfortunately you were not selected at this time. Please do consider applying again in the future. If you applied once, you can 'roll over' your application to a new year. If you selected 'Interested in Other Opportunities,' then you may still hear from WSBA staff regarding any vacancies.

If you would like to learn more regarding the status of your volunteer application, please email barleaders@wsba.org.
