Terra Nevitt

Terra Nevitt is the Executive Director of the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA), having served in the role since 2019. She joined the Bar in 2014 to work with the Washington State Access to Justice Board and to provide leadership in coordinating the state’s network of civil legal aid providers to address the persistent access to justice gap for low-income Washingtonians. Terra then served as the Director of Advancement and Chief Development Officer, collaborating with the Washington State Bar Foundation, before stepping into the role of Executive Director.

Prior to joining WSBA, Terra was the Executive Director of LAW Advocates, a civil legal aid organization in Bellingham, WA, and consulted with ECPAT International in Bangkok, Thailand, an international network of nongovernmental organizations working to end the sexual exploitation of children. She began her legal career as an immigration attorney and program director for Catholic Refugee and Immigration Services in Seattle.

Terra has served on several boards focused on issues of diversity, leadership development, and access to justice, including terms as Treasurer for JustLead and Washington Initiative for Diversity. She is a former member of the Bellingham-Whatcom County Commission on Domestic Violence. Terra received her B.A. in Society and Justice from the University of Washington, and her J.D. from George Washington University School of Law. Outside of work, you can find her tracking orcas, traveling the globe with her family, and visiting as many local farm stands as possible.
