Benefits of Volunteering with a QLSP
Earn MCLE Credits for Volunteering
WSBA members may claim one credit for every hour of pro bono legal service provided through a QLSP. Pro bono hours are reported through the MCLE Online System. Visit WSBA MCLE or contact mcle@wsba.org for more information about earning MCLE credit for pro bono service.
Access Free WSBA CLE Programs
WSBA offers free on-demand Public Service Education CLE courses to QLSP staff and volunteers. To view the menu of free offerings for QLSP volunteers, visit the WSBA CLE Store and click the Public Service Education portfolio on the left-hand side. Contact PublicService@wsba.org to learn how to get access to these trainings.
License Fee Waivers for Pro Bono Status Members
WSBA Pro Bono Status members who have completed at least 30 hours of pro bono service with a QLSP in the prior year can have their annual license fee waived. Visit the Pro Bono Status page or read the Pro Bono Status FAQ for more information.
Complimentary Access to WSBA Deskbooks
WSBA offers all QLSPs in Washington free online subscription to WSBA Deskbooks through Fastcase for research done onsite at the Qualified Legal Service Provider's location. This complimentary subscription allows users online access to a fully word-searchable version of WSBA deskbooks; all citations to cases are linked to the full text of these primary materials in the Fastcase database.
