Lawyer | A license to practice law in Washington and appear in Washington courts. |
Limited License Legal Technician (LLLT) | A license to practice law in Washington with a limited scope of practice in family law. |
Limited Practice Officer (LPO) | A license to practice law in Washington limited to the selection, preparation, and completion of legal documents for the closing of real estate and personal property transactions. |
House Counsel | A license to practice law in Washington when employed in Washington as a lawyer for a business entity. |
Foreign Law Consultant | A license to practice law in Washington limited to advising on the laws of a foreign country. |
| Military | No longer an available license type. Ineligible to practice law in Washington. |
| Authorized Entity | An entity authorized by the Washington Supreme Court to provide legal services or otherwise participate in Washington’s Pilot Project for Entity Regulation. Each authorized entity receives an individual order from the Court outlining the specific scope of its permitted activities. Emeritus | Ineligible to practice law in Washington. Voluntary for members on active or judicial status for 40 years or more. |
Inactive | Ineligible to practice law in Washington. Voluntary for members who are not practicing law in Washington. Eligible to return to active status. |
Judicial | Ineligible to practice law in Washington. Voluntary for members who are in a judicial position. |
Resigned in Lieu of Disbarment | Ineligible to practice law in Washington. No longer licensed to practice law due to disciplinary sanction. Not eligible to reapply for admission. |
Resigned in Lieu of Discipline | Ineligible to practice law in Washington. No longer licensed to practice law due to resignation while disciplinary proceedings were pending. Not eligible to reapply for admission. |
Retired | Ineligible to practice law in Washington. No longer licensed to practice law. Voluntary status for members who retired from the practice of law. |
Revoked | Ineligible to practice law in Washington. No longer licensed to practice law due to administrative action or disciplinary sanction. |
Suspended – Discipline | Ineligible to practice law in Washington for specified period of time due to disciplinary sanction. |
Suspended – Interim | Ineligible to practice law in Washington pending the outcome of disciplinary or disability proceedings. |
Suspended – Nonpayment of fees and/or assessments | Ineligible to practice law in Washington due to administrative suspension for non payment of license fees or mandatory assessments. |
Suspended – MCLE non compliance | Ineligible to practice law in Washington due to administrative suspension for mandatory continuing legal education non compliance. |
Suspended – No Insurance Disclosure | Ineligible to practice law in Washington due to administrative suspension for no insurance disclosure. |
Suspended – No trust account information | Ineligible to practice law in Washington due to administrative suspension for no trust account information. |
