Jenaé Ball Named Local Hero by the Washington State Bar Association | Sept. 8, 2023
SPOKANE, Wash., Sept. 8, 2023 – The Washington State Bar Association today presented Spokane attorney Jenaé Ball with the Local Hero award in recognition of her outstanding leadership and service to the Spokane legal community.
“Jenaé Ball truly embodies the spirit of the Local Hero Award,” said WSBA President Daniel Clark. “She is a pillar in the Spokane legal community and made a significant impact during challenging times.”
The Local Hero Award is presented to those who have made noteworthy contributions to their communities. Clark presented Ball with the award during the Sept. 8 meeting of WSBA’s Board of Governors meeting in Spokane. Friends and colleagues at the Spokane County Bar Association nominated Ball for the award.
Ball was president-elect of the Spokane County Bar Association (SCBA) when COVID hit and became president in the Fall of 2020. Her nominators say she showed tremendous leadership and flexibility during that time. She was also nominated for her leadership in acknowledging systemic racism in the justice system.
Ball is a principal and Randall Danskin, P.S. Her practice focuses exclusively on labor and employment counseling and litigation. She is co-chair of the 2023 Access to Justice Conference and serves on the Board of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. In addition to serving as president of the Spokane County Bar Association, she served in the Volunteer Lawyers Program and was chair of the SDBA Task Force on System Racism in our Regional Justice System. She is a member of the SCBA Diversity Section and the Washington State Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section and provides legal counsel to a number of regional boards.
Ball received her J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law and a B.S. in International Relations and French Language and Literature from Gonzaga University.
