'Diversity' Now on Display at the Bar

by WSBA
Diversity is at the core of the state bar’s mission, and now it is proudly on display for all visitors to the WSBA offices. Hon. Anthony Gipe, a judge at Kent Municipal Court and past WSBA President, gifted a print of his beautiful 60” x 20” oil painting to the state bar to reflect our mutual commitment to and celebration of the piece’s title, “Diversity.”

The hands represent the American Sign Language symbols for the letters of “Diversity,” and each is a different ethnic, racial and/or cultural background. The hands include jewelry, adornments, or clothing that reflect some unique aspects of culture, or the issues facing the community. The background colors represent the original pride flag. The piece was selected by the Washington Supreme Court Minority & Justice Commission for its 2019-2020 artwork for posters and publications.

Please stop by the WSBA public floor, 1325 Fourth Ave., Suite 600 in Seattle to see the artwork in person, and once you are so moved to own the piece for yourself, contact info@qlawfoundation.org to purchase a copy and support the QLaw Foundation.
