Certified Professional Guardianship and Conservatorship Board
Applications due May 29, 2026
One position is open on the Certified Professional Guardianship and Conservatorship (CPGC) Board to fill a WSBA representative position on this Board with a term beginning Oct. 1, 2026 and ending Sept. 30, 2029. The WSBA will nominate an applicant to be appointed by the Supreme Court. The CPGC Board is the regulatory authority for the practice of Certified Professional Guardians/Conservators, including individuals and agencies in Washington. The Board is charged with establishing the standards and criteria for the certification of professional guardians, as defined by RCW 11.130.010 (26).
The Board meets monthly (in person, Zoom, or by conference call) to review applications for certification, adopt and implement regulations relating to standards and practice, ethics and training for professional guardians, and to review grievances. In developing procedures and policies, the Board would like to consider diverse opinions. Therefore, the Board is interested in members from diverse backgrounds, those with diverse experience and knowledge, as well as diversity in geographic location throughout the state of Washington.

Washington Pattern Jury Instructions Committee
Applications due June 12, 2026
One position is open on the Washington Pattern Jury Instructions Committee for a term beginning July 15, 2026, and ending July 15, 2030. The WSBA will nominate up to three applicants with the selected nominee to be appointed by the Washington Supreme Court.
Committee members serve on subcommittees and research, draft, review, discuss, and vote on civil and criminal instructions proposed by the subcommittees. This position requires considerable time commitment. The full committee meets the first Saturday of each month (except July and August) for three or four hours. Members also serve on one or more subcommittees. It is a large committee with more than 30 members, including judges and lawyers, and two WSBA representatives. Committee members always have the option of participating in meetings virtually, or in person in Seattle several times a year.
