Date:

July 25, 2022

Time:

Peace Brigades International (PBI) is a non-partisan, non-governmental organization founded in 1981 to protect human rights and promote non-violent transformation of conflicts.  Please join us on Monday, July 25, 2022 as Dr. Thamil Ananthavinayagan of the University of Nottingham (U.K.) School of Law, describes his experience with the legal and practical problems in providing protective, non-violent accompaniment to members of organizations threatened by political violence. Being the chairperson of the Irish Section of PBI  since 2021, he will use his academic scholarship -- the Third World Approaches to International Law (TWAIL) -- to sketch and explain the necessity of diverse approaches to human rights to disrupt conflicts and pave the way to peace through law.
