The WSBA Construction Law Section and Clark County Bar Association present a CLE specifically geared toward construction lawyers to cover the lay of the land in practicing law along the Oregon/Washington border. There are many significant differences between Oregon and Washington construction law. Attendees will come away with a better understanding of those differences, especially in regards to public improvement projects, liens, bonds, contract language, OR-OSHA vs. WISHA claims, workers comp, insurance disputes. There will also be a panel discussion on the new Oregon Corporate Activities Tax (the “CAT”) that went into effect on January 1, 2020. Finally, Washington Superior Court Judge Greg Gonzales and Oregon Circuit Court Judge Stephen Bushong will provide guidance on navigating the courtrooms in their respective jurisdictions - Clark and Multnomah Counties.
