Equity & Justice

Part of WSBA's Mission

Guided by the mission and under the authority of the Supreme Court as outlined in General Rule 12.2, the WSBA works to promote diversity and equality in the courts and the legal profession and promote an effective legal system accessible to all. The WSBA has signed on to the Race Equity and Justice Initiative’s Acknowledgements and Commitments, which provides further guidance on how the organization approaches equity and inclusion.

Volunteers can help to fulfill this mission and vision by

• Taking proactive responsibility for embedding Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion into their work and processes 
• Identifying and dismantling mechanisms of exclusion and marginalization
• Fostering an inclusive entity culture that encourages and incorporates different perspectives, ideas, and experiences
• Advocating for new policies and practices that align with WSBA's stated values of justice, diversity, inclusion, and equity
