This presentation will cover the history of the environmental justice movement and its evolution through federal Executive Orders and federal and state legislation and summarize the current state of play at both the federal and state levels. From that background, it address how environmental justice has become and is continuing to evolve as an important consideration in federal, state and local permitting for various types of development projects, including infrastructure, and the key considerations in integrating environmental justice consideration into permitting and funding materials.
