The CLE will cover high level planning practices and technique to mitigate potential tax and estate planning problems created by international clients. In particular the presentation will cover the tax classifications of nonresident aliens and resident aliens, and how each differs from tax treatment given to United States citizens. Some of the problems that arise in planning for international clients arise in the areas of income, gift, and estate tax and these problems can be mitigated with prior planning.
