The Future: A Path Forward

Discuss and analyze cannabis social equity programs established in various states and its efficacy; highlight what social equity applicants should be aware of if they are thinking about participating in such programs.

Explore other countries that have legalized marijuana and/or other mind altering substances; discuss the likelihood of legalization in United States for now and what consequences it could have on the United States.

Preregistered attendees of this program will be provided complimentary access to an on demand CLE session entitled History of the War on Drugs presented by Dr. Katherine Beckett, accredited for 1.5 L&LP. This session was presented on May 18, 2021 as part of the Civil Rights Law Section and World Peace Through Law’s section CLE entitled: The War on Drugs:  A Domestic and International Driving Force of Mass Incarceration. This is considered a duplicate course and attendees may not claim credit for the same CLE sessions if repeated within their three-year reporting period.
