POSTPONED: 2020 Senior Lawyers Section Conference: Filling the Gaps

Date:

May 1, 2020

Time:

This event is postponed to a date to be determined.

Please mark your calendars for May 1 to attend the Senior Lawyers Section’s 2020 CLE program, Filling the Gaps.

King County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Satterberg will address criminal justice reform. UW School of Law’s Technology Law and Public Policy Clinic director and students will discuss their policy work at the intersection of privacy rights and artificial intelligence, machine learning and other emerging technologies.

Other members of our stellar faculty will focus primarily on ways attorneys and the justice system are serving vulnerable populations. Experienced practitioners will address legal issues in assisting unaccompanied minors in the immigration system, representing clients with diminished capacity, and tackling zoning codes and affordable housing.

Several presenters will also weave in the theme of professional transitions – from retirement to global volunteerism and from private practice to mediation. The day will also include a fascinating examination of regional law and politics involved in the making of Chambers Bay Golf Course, one of the top public courses in the country.
