Sept. 26, 2023
This free Legal Lunchbox seminar on Sept. 26 will briefly review the original 1989 article by Dr. Kimberlé Crenshaw, who developed intersectionality as a legal framework in her review of employment discrimination cases against Black women.
Then, Robert Foss (he/him), and Ikál Nico Quintana (he/they) will describe how this framework guides the delivery of legal services to Latino/a/e/x and BIPOC LGBTQIA2S+ communities in Washington state today. Both speakers will offer ways that all legal professionals can strengthen their practice by taking an intersectional approach to serving clients and supporting community-led systemic advocacy.
