Last summer, our Washington Supreme Court called on the legal community to take steps to recognize and address the racial injustice plaguing our country. Heeding the Court’s call to action, we are offering a series of Legal Lunchbox CLEs focused on racial injustice. In March, we started by understanding the roots of systemic racism in the law and explored how it impacts various areas of practice and client communities. This June we shift focus and turn to how individuals, justice practitioners, law firms, and organizations can use a modified approach to combating systemic racism through meaningful relationship building and the shifting of institutional power by cultivating accountability to both clients and communities most impacted by structural oppression.
