Please join us as Rebecca "Becky" Mares , an aviation attorney at the Seattle office of Lane Powell PC, provides an overview of domestic and international issues related to human trafficking, particularly in aviation. Additionally, Becky will discuss human trafficking, know your client (KYC), due diligence and its relation to: (1) RPC 1.16 regarding a lawyer's duty to withdraw from representation if the client "persists in a course of action involving the lawyer's services that the lawyer reasonably believes is criminal or fraudulent"; and RPC 2.1 regarding a lawyer's duty as advisor to "refer not only to law but to other considerations such as moral, economic, social and political factors, that may be relevant to the client’s situation."
