How to Complete the WSBA Volunteer Application

How to Apply:
Step 1: Prepare a cover letter and resume. Note: some groups require a writing sample. (pdf. and doc. formats are acceptable).
Step 2: Log in to your myWSBA.org account here. Don’t have a myWSBA account? Anyone can create an account. Create one here.
Step 3: Using the link in Step 2 should take you directly to the application after you log-in. If not, you can easily find the Volunteer Application located on the left-hand menu (column).
Step 4: Complete the application as instructed.
Note:
- The application may timeout if you take too long; thus, why we suggest having your documents already prepared (step 1).
- New! If you have applied in the past, you will have the option to ‘roll over’ and resubmit an application. Read more instructions about this step in the process. If you have not applied before, skip this step.
- If a group does not appear on the drop-down menu, you may not be eligible. For questions, please email barleaders@wsba.org.
- You may select and rank up to three groups.
- If interested/willing to serve on more than three, select "Interested in Other Opportunities."
- We request that you complete the demographic information, but it is entirely optional. Please select ‘"Chose Not to Respond" for any (or all) of the questions if desired.
Step 5: After you submit your application, you should receive an email confirmation. If you do not, feel free to email barleaders@wsba.org to inquire.
The deadline is May 31, 2024.
After Your Application is Submitted
All applications will be reviewed. Specific nominations/application review processes vary. Generally speaking, applications are reviewed by the Chair, Board of Governors Liaison and staff liaison. Some groups may contact you for more information or to schedule an interview. Review the guidance provided to these ‘nomination teams.’
If nominated, nominees are reviewed by the Board of Governors Nominations Committee and move on to the Washington State Supreme Court for final appointment. A majority of final appointments will occur between June and September.
All terms begin Oct. 1, 2024, unless otherwise communicated.
