WSBA News and InformationCourt Prepares for Possible Flood at Maleng Regional Justice Center (MRJC) in KentIt is anticipated that this fall and winter may bring serious flooding to the Kent Valley, and the Maleng Regional Justice Center is in the flood plain area. Bylaw Review Committee Considers Changes to Membership StatusThe WSBA Bylaw Review Committee is considering recommending a variety of changes related to membership status. The Committee presented the first reading of recommendations to the Board of Governors at the October BOG meeting. Members are encouraged to submit comments to comments@wsba.org. Comments Sought on Proposed Changes to Local RulesThe United States District Court for the Western District of Washington invites members of the WSBA to review and provide comments to the proposed changes to the local rules. All comments must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on November 13. The proposed changes to the local rules, as well as information on where to send your comments, can be found on the Court's website at www.wawd.uscourts.gov. Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for Website Redesign SoughtThe WSBA is seeking proposals from individuals and organizations for a website redesign project. Scope of work could include planning, developing, testing, and implementing redesign of the WSBA website. Interested parties are invited to respond to the RFP no later than 5:00 p.m. PST on Monday, November 23, 2009. National Celebrate Pro Bono Week — Pro Bono Workshops and Reception Honoring Bill Gates Sr.The ABA has proclaimed the week of October 26–30 as national Celebrate Pro Bono Week. Washington's Celebrate Pro Bono Coordinating Committee presents "Pro Bono Workshops: Hope and Help in Hard Times." On Friday, October 30, workshops will be held from 8:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Seattle University School of Law.
