How to Complete Your License Renewal Online Using mywsba
Online renewal opens on October 15

What You Will Need to Complete Your Renewal
All members must have a valid email address on file with the WSBA (see Login below).
- Active Members
- You will need to know whether you are covered by Professional Liability Insurance and if so, whether you intend to maintain that insurance while engaged in private practice.
- You will need to know whether you or your firm maintains an IOLTA account or other client trust account(s) for the deposit of client funds received in connection with representations undertaken using your Washington license. If so, you will need the Institution, Branch/City and IOLTA Account number(s).
- If this is your year to report MCLE compliance, you may need your MCLE records if you plan to add courses to your roster.
- If you are reporting pro bono service hours, you will need the number of hours you are reporting for RPC 6.1(a) and (b).
- You will need your credit card number, expiration date, verification code and the name on the card (Visa or MasterCard only).
- Inactive Members
- You will need your credit card number, expiration date, verification code and the name on the card (Visa or MasterCard only).
- Emeritus Members
- You will need your credit card number, expiration date, verification code and the name on the card (Visa or MasterCard only).
- You will need the name of the qualified legal services provider for which you are volunteering.
Login
- In order to use www.mywsba.org, you must have a valid e-mail address on file with the WSBA.
- If you do not currently have an e-mail address on file, please contact the WSBA Service Center at questions@wsba.org or 800-945-9722 to add one.
· Go to www.mywsba.org.
· Click Login in the top right corner of the screen.
· Click the "Reset password" link under the Login button.
o In the "Bar Number/Login" field, enter your WSBA Bar number.
o In the "E-mail Address" field, enter the primary e-mail address you have on file with the WSBA.
o Click Reset Password.
· Your password will be e-mailed to you immediately.
· Once you have your password, click Login and enter your WSBA Bar number in the "Bar Number/Login" and your new password in the "Password" field and click the Login button.
My Profile
The "My Profile" page has four boxes:
- My Contact Info
- MCLE Info
- Sections / Committees
- 2010 Licensing
My Contact Info
- Click Edit Contact Info to view and edit your contact information.
- Click Edit to make any changes or Remove to delete information that is not required and is no longer valid.
- Note: Your Home address/phone will be made public if it is the only official address on file.
MCLE Info
- This section shows your MCLE Reporting Period and whether you are due to report this year.
- Credits required and remaining are displayed as well as Form 1s you have submitted for approval that are Incomplete.
- Click "Access MCLE" to see your full MCLE profile and roster of CLE credits.
- Click "Go Complete C2/C3" to access your MCLE certification form and also to view your roster.
- If you have met your credit requirement and verified that the courses and credits listed are correct, click the box at the bottom to certify, then click the Submit button.
- If you have not yet met your credit requirement, click the link to the MCLE website to add more courses to your roster or submit Form 1 applications for course approval.
- Deadlines:
- All credits must be completed by December 31, 2009.
- Online MCLE certification (C2/C3 form) must be completed by February 1, 2010.
- Paper C2/C3 forms must be postmarked or delivered by February 1, 2010. You must submit a paper C2/C3 form if
- You are not credit compliant before the C2/C3 form is due;
- You are credit compliant but Form 1s for some of your credits needed for compliance have not yet been approved.
- You are certifying via comity.
- If you are not credit compliant, you must submit a petition by February 1, 2010 to request an extension.
- Note: Late fees are assessed if the credit and/or certification deadlines are not met.

Sections / Committees
- This area shows any sections or committees of which you are currently a member.
- If you were a sections member last year, you will see a list of those sections during the license renewal process and be able to renew them.
- You may click the Information links to visit the webpages of the sections and committees.
2010 Licensing
- The first time you log in, once online licensing has become available, you may click Start in this section to begin license renewal.
- If your status is not Inactive, you will be asked if you want to change to Inactive status.
- If you click Yes, you will be given information on what that status change entails and you may certify and submit the Inactive Application.
- If you click No, you will be taken to your Licensing Summary page where you can continue the renewal process.
- Once you have clicked Start in this section to begin renewal, any time you return to this page, this section will show a summary of the renewal steps and whether they have been completed.
Licensing Summary
- After choosing to remain active or submitting an inactive application, you will be taken to the Licensing Summary page.
- From here, you may click on the following links:
- Professional Liability Insurance Disclosure (if your status is Active)
- Trust Account Information Form (if your status is Active)
- License Fee Payment
- MCLE Reporting - C2/C3 link (if it is your year to report)
- Voluntary Reporting of Pro Bono Publico Service Hours
- Campaign for Equal Justice Contribution (if your firm is paying your license fees)
- Emeritus Members (if your status is Emeritus)
- Steps that you have completed will show a green checkmark and say "Complete."
- Steps that you have not completed will not have a green checkmark and will say "Not Complete" in red.
Status Changes
For more information on the status types listed below, visit the Membership Status Changes webpage.
- To change to Inactive status, mark Yes on the "Change of Membership Status to Inactive" page when you first begin license renewal. On the next page, mark the box to certify and click the button to Submit Inactive Application. Next, click the License Fee Payment link to submit payment of $200 for the Inactive License Fee (or $260 to include the 30% late fee if you are paying after 2/1/10).
- To apply to Resign, download the form or contact the WSBA to request the form.
- To apply to change to Active, e-mail statuschanges@wsba.org or call the WSBA.
- To apply to change to Judicial, print your request for change on your judicial letterhead, sign, and send it to the WSBA.
- To apply to change to Honorary (if admitted to the WSBA and on Active or Judicial status for 50 years or more), download the form or contact the WSBA to request the form.
- To apply to change to Emeritus, contact Sharlene Steele (206-727-8262, sharlene@wsba.org). The training required to change status to Emeritus will be held on January 12, 2010.
Professional Liability Insurance Disclosure
- Pursuant to APR 26, this disclosure must be completed by all Active members, even if you do not have liability insurance. Failure to complete this disclosure constitutes grounds for suspension.
- Mark one of the four boxes and click Save and Continue.

Trust Account Information Form
- Pursuant to ELC 15.5, this form must be completed by all Active members, regardless of whether you have a trust account. Failure to comply constitutes grounds for discipline.
- Mark Yes or No to the question on the form.
- If you answered Yes, fill out the institution, branch/city and IOLTA account number(s) and click Add.
- Click Save and Continue.

Voluntary Reporting of Pro Bono
- In this section you may report the number of hours of pro bono publico service, as defined in RPC 6.1, that you provided in 2009.
- Use the first row of boxes to report hours of free legal services provided to persons of limited means and/or to organizations that address needs of persons of limited means (RPC 6.1(a)).
- Use the second row of boxes to report hours of other pro bono or reduced-fee services provided (RPC 6.1(b)).
- If you contributed 50 or more hours, you will receive commendation from the WSBA unless you check the box stating that you prefer to remain anonymous.
License Fee Payment
- When you click the License Fee Payment link, you will be taken to a page where you can join or renew Section memberships and purchase the Resources directory.
- To purchase the Resources directory, enter the quantity you would like to purchase in the Qty box. The directory will be mailed to you in the spring.
- To join or renew a section, check the box next to that section.
- Click Save and Continue.
· On the License Fee Payment page, you may click the Apply Keller Deduction link for more information or to take the deduction.
· New this year, a voluntary Campaign for Equal Justice contribution has been added to your payment. This campaign helps ensure equal justice for all Washington residents, regardless of financial standing, by raising money to create a stable fund for our state's civil legal aid programs. Your tax deductible contribution will be acknowledged by LAWFund. Click the Change Campaign for Equal Justice Contribution link for more information or to change or opt out of the donation.
· The box at the top of the License Fee Payment page will list any applicable items:
o 2010 License Fee
o Lawyers' Fund for Client Protection Assessment (for Active members)
o Voluntary Campaign for Equal Justice contribution
o Resources directory
o Sections memberships
o Late Fee of 30% if you are paying after 2/1/10 (see chart)
- Enter your credit card type, number, verification number, expiration date, and the name on the card and click Make Payment.
Is Your License Renewal Complete?
When you log in and click My Profile after you have gone through the renewal process:
- If this is your reporting year, MCLE Info should show your next reporting period.
- The 2010 Licensing box should say "Thank you. You have completed your 2010 license renewal."
