For the past several years, FEMA has been working with the counties in Washington and the Washington State Department of Ecology to update the floodplain maps throughout the state. With less than half the counties complete, the new maps are already causing significant concerns. Seattle attorney Molly Lawrence will discuss the status of FEMA's remapping efforts, how it may affect property within your jurisdiction, and how various local jurisdictions are responding.
