New Rules Adopted Effective January 1, 2009

The Washington Supreme Court adopted the new rules and amendments as recommended by the Limited Practice Board.  The rules are scheduled to be published in the July 29, 2008 Supreme Court advance sheets.  The effective date for all the rules and amendments listed here is January 1, 2009.  The following documents reflect the rules and regulations as they will read effective January 1, 2009.

Key changes to the rules and regulations are as follows:

• A new set of LPO Rules of Professional Conduct have been adopted;
• APR 12.1, relating to trust accounts, has been rescinded and replaced by LPORPC 1.12A&B;
• The Disciplinary Rules for LPOs were rescinded and replaced by the Rules for Enforcement of LPO Conduct.
