Meet Our Therapists
Michael is the Associate Director of the Lawyer Services Department, which includes the Lawyers Assistance Program (LAP) and the Law Office Management Assistance Program (LOMAP).
He possesses a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Oregon and an MA degree in Mass Communications from Syracuse University. Before joining the Washington State Bar Association, he for many years maintained a successful independent practice in the greater Seattle area focusing on both Counseling/Clinical Psychology and Organizational Psychology.
In addition to his departmental oversight responsibilities, Michael also provides counseling services to individuals and assists with Diversion Administration in collaboration with the Office of Disciplinary Counsel.
Dan has enjoyed working at WSBA since November 2008. He received his doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Denver in 2007 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Seattle VA Hospital in 2008. His areas of expertise include addictions, post-traumatic stress disorder, and forensic psychology. At the Lawyers Assistance Program, Dan provides individual therapy, leads job-seekers groups, handles substance abuse referrals, and conducts outreach to bar groups statewide on mental health issues. He also works with the Office of Disciplinary Counsel as the Diversion Administrator.
Heidi Seligman has been with the Lawyer Services Department at WSBA since January 2011. She is a graduate of Seattle University's Master's in Counseling program and has been licensed since 2003. At the Lawyers Assistance Program, Heidi provides individual therapy and topic-focused group services, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, stress management, work-life balance, and career transition/job-seeking skills. Additional specialties include lifestyle change, self-care, and weight loss/emotional eating issues.
