The WSBA is working to better understand the complex challenges and opportunities facing our members, and I’m writing to ask for your help.

We’re conducting a study that looks at career transitions, job satisfaction, and other factors that characterize WSBA members’ experiences practicing law. We commissioned TrueBearing LLC, a professional research and evaluation firm, to conduct a three-part study of the membership over the next two months. There are three ways you can potentially be involved in this study.

  1. Randomized-participation survey

On January 5, an invitation to complete the membership survey will be sent to randomly selected members. The survey will be available to these members from January 5–February 3.

To ensure complete confidentiality, TrueBearing will handle all aspects of this survey. If you are selected, please complete the survey fully and candidly, knowing that your responses will not be tracked back to you as an individual in any way.
  2. Open-participation survey

On February 6, TrueBearing will open the survey for any member who wishes to be heard.
  3. Online fora

During January and February, TrueBearing will facilitate online fora, similar to focus groups. Each will be a confidential, moderated conversation among approximately 10 WSBA members, taking place over 4-8 days. Themes will include:

    • Racial and ethnic minorities
    • Sexual orientation minorities
    • Women
    • Primary parent or primary caregiver
    • Persons living with disabilities and impairments
